Brief Profile

English speaking Caribbeans come from a variety of countries, including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos Islands.

The English language is the third most established throughout the Caribbean. English is the official language of about 18 Caribbean territories inhabited by about 6 million people, though most inhabitants of these islands may more properly be described as speaking English creoles rather than local varieties of standard English.

A large percentage are Roman Catholic but many are also evangelical Christians. Others would claim no religion as their preference.

Prayer Points

  • Pray God will work through and in the lives of the English speaking Caribbean people to grow in their understanding of Jesus Christ.
  • Pray that English speaking Caribbean evangelicals will be a light for the gospel in both word and deed to the many peoples in North America.
