In the United States, the Czech people consist of the foreign born (1st generation) Czech originating from the Czech Republic. In Canada, they consist of those people who claim Czechia as their first language. They are a Slavic people, closely related to the Slovaks in speech and custom, but with a distinct history and national identity.
The Czech people are dispersed throughout North America, with most prominent concentrations in New York, California, Illinois, and Florida.
The majority of Czech are Orthodox Christians. Many, though, are in name only Orthodox Christians.

However, many over the many decades of residing in the United States no longer speak Czech at home nor adhere to any cultural traditions that make up Czech people. For instance, the town of West, Texas has a high percentage of people who claim Czech ancestry. However, many only speak English. Other towns throughout North America are similar.
There are many Czech American nonprofit organizations across the country that hold festivals which promote Czech heritage. The majority of these festivals are held annually. Below are several links direct to some of the more popular festivals :
Pray that evangelical Christians will share the message of Christ in word and deed with Czech people who speak Czech at home and who identify with Czech cultural traditions as their social identity.
Pray for Czech who have yet to experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
